RSVP Herb Sheers
I had these herb shears on my Christmas list for 2 years until I finally bought it myself. Oh man, I’m so glad I did. The name is rather self explanatory. Ever made salsa and try to chop sticky cilantro? Annoying. The Herb Shears are perfect for herbs like cilantro, basil, parsley, etc. But, I also started using them for chopping things like yellow onions, green onions, peppers, all sorts of veges to throw in a salad or on top of a sandwich. I love to make a Flatbread Sandwich for lunch and cutting up onions, peppers, and cheese takes me a fraction of the time.
Boil Over Safeguard
I have NO idea how I managed to boil noodles or potatoes before I had this. In fact, I pretty much destroyed my old stove stop with water that would boil over. The Boil Over Safeguard is made of sturdy silicone and is dishwasher safe. It rinses off easily and is flexible for easy storage. I have the red one on the left, but there are quite a few different kinds that include cute shapes and colors. I also like to give these as gifts for holidays or as a housewarming gift. I NEVER boil anything without mine anymore, especially now that I have a glass cook top. Really helps the clean up.
Prepworks Fruit & Vegetable Keeper
I have both versions of the Prepworks Fruit and Vegetable keeper shown above and I wish I had more. I personally use the one on the left more often than the other one and I think it works a little better too. What I love so much about these is the multifunctional features. You store fruits and vegetables longer and they stay fresher, you can rinse said fruits and vegetables right in the bowl, and you can set them out as servers when you have guests over. The bottom green tray comes out for rinsing and cleaning and there is a guide on the front that lets you know if you need to keep the vents open or closed or whether or not to add a little water in the bottom tray depending on what you’re storing.
The one on the right is collapsible too, which is great for easy storage. This really is a must have for fruits, vegetables, lettuce, etc. I have premade salads and stored them these for days. All of the ingredients are sill crisp and delicious days later.
Genius Nicer Dicer
Yes, this is an “As Seen on TV” product, but it also another kitchen essential in my house. For those of you who don’t know how these gadget work, you place the item you wish to slice and/or dice on the plate with the appropriate blades, close the lid, press down, and Voila! This particular brand comes with a TON of different blade plates, slicers, safety holders, peelers, and even a lid so you can store your chopped items in the fridge.
While I don’t use this product every day, it is a life saver for Christmas Dinners, Thanksgiving, parties, and any kind of event when I’m making large quantities of food. I do not like spending a half hour chopping onions and celery into tiny chunks. No. Thank. You. This is absolutely perfect for slicing, dicing, chopping, shredding, grating (perfect for Parmesan cheese), and storage.
NOTE: There are a lot of different brands that have a similar product to this one. I highly recommend the Genius Nicer Dicer. It’s far more sturdy than other choppers I have used… and ultimately broken. Plus, it comes with a lot more accessories for a similar cost to others that only come with 2 – 3 different blade plates.
