Discounts & Free Stuff

Who doesn’t love getting a great deal or getting cash back?  I know I do!  I have compiled some of the cash back and discount opportunities that I use.  We’re not talking a dollar here, a couple cents there, I’m talking a big chunk of change.  PLUS, not only are you getting great discounts and coupons, but you can also make money by referring people to these free programs.  Visit WORK FROM HOME for additional information and how to sign up.

1. Ebates

ebates_logo_PMSOk folks, here’s the deal.  SIGN UP FOR EBATES!

It’s a website that has a special contract with thousands of companies like Kohl’s, Walmart, Target, Amazon, and tons more.

These companies pay Ebates to promote their products and pay them to get the word out to current and potential consumers.  Ebates in turn, offers these discounts or cash back opportunities to us mortals who have signed up for the Ebates program.  We get deals on products we want or need PLUS cash back that comes in the form of a check in the mail made out to you.  Best of all, Ebates is FREE.  F. R. E. E. You pay absolutely nothing to get full access to everything on Ebates.

Here is an example: My husband and I recently renovated our kitchen.  We are do-it-yourselfers so we saved a lot of money by not having it installed.  So, when we were going through our search for new appliances, I came across a suite of 4 appliances from Sears.  I went online, saw that Sears was offering 6% cash back through Ebates (Yes – 6% cash back), and they were having a sale on all of their appliances as well.

So, we paid about $2500 for 4 brand new appliances (originally marked at $3200), and because I had gone through the Ebates link and activated my cash back rewards… I received a check in the mail, made out to me, for $150.

Seriously.  No joke.  In fact, I have another check coming to me for about $10 for some smaller purchases I made.  Hey, ten bucks is ten bucks.  I also use Ebates when I’m shopping for Christmas and birthday presents, back to school shopping for clothes and school supplies, and GoDaddy (my online registrar) is even a member of Ebates.  That means that any time I buy or renew a domain name and/or hosting for my business (which is building websites), I get 7% cash back.

Yes, please!

In addition to the exclusive offers and cash back, Ebates also has an excellent referral program.  I really can’t think of a better set up here.  I get exclusive offers, cash back opportunities, and I can make additional money if I refer someone?  That’s a no brainer.

Ebates Coupons and Cash BackIf you’re ready to sign up right now, click on the button to the left.  It already has my “tag” so you don’t need to add my email address for it to count as a referral.  You can copy and past your own referral code in your email and send to people or even a Facebook post.  It’s incredibly easy.

Or, if you don’t feel comfortable with the word “code”, you can always just tell the person signing up to add your email address.  Here is a screen shot when you sign up.  See the “Referrer’s Email” under New Members?  That is how Ebates assigns credit to the person who reffered the new member.  DON’T FORGET TO GIVE YOUR REFERRALS YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS!!!

 2. Walmart Savings Catcher

logo-no-beta-largeIf you’re one of those people avidly opposed to Walmart, then this may not be for you.  Still, read this just in case!  You never know when you may have to shop there.

Personally, I shop at Walmart every week.  I have a family of 4 to clothe, feed, and clean up after.  The prices are great, their off-brand products work just as well as the more expensive name brands (for example: their Equate equivalent to ProActive!), and now they offer the Savings Catcher.

If you haven’t heard about it already, Savings Catcher is a feature on as well as their app.  What this feature does is scan the items on your receipt and then search competitor’s stores for better advertised deals.  If there are, then they will accumulate that money until you request to get it back by a Walmart egift card.

It’s very easy.  Just tap “Savings Catcher” (first image) then tap “Scan a Receipt” (second image).  Maneuver the square over the QR code at the bottom.  When the scanner has successfully scanned your receipt you’ll hear a chime like you have just scanned a product at Walmart.

It usually takes about 3 days to see if there were any advertised deals that beat Walmart’s prices.  Here is a close up of the bottom of my own Savings Catcher account.  Check out the number of scanned receipts, which is 13.  Now look at how much I have available to get back on an egift card.  🙂  Hello christmas money

3. Amazon Prime

amazon-logoI love me some!  I really can’t say enough about this website.  (P.S.) You can also get cash back on certain items you buy through Ebates depending on what kind of promotions amazon has at the time.

If you’re reading this blog, then I’m sure you’re familiar with the ease and savings you find on Amazon already.  However, I’m going to talk about joining Amazon Prime and becoming an Amazon Affiliate.

First, let’s explore an AMAZON PRIME MEMBERSHIP.  The main reason I signed up for Amazon Prime (which is about $100 a year) is for the free 2-day shipping and $3.99 for overnight delivery.  I shop online ALL THE TIME.  It’s so much easier for me!  So, the savings I get for not having to pay for shipping pay for the membership almost 3 times over.

The other awesome facet I use the most is access to Prime Instant Instant Video.  Amazon is always adding more movies and TV shows to watch for free when you have a Prime membership.  They also have Prime Music, Prime Photos, and the Kindle Owners’ Lending Library, which I am definitely going to be signing up for as well.

If you shop online, this is definitely the best membership you can have.  Plus, you can refer friends and get credit to go towards your annual renewal.  You can read more about that BY CLICKING THIS LINK.

amazon_associatesNow this is where you have an opportunity to start making some money through amazon.  I’m not referring to buying and selling actual products (although you can do that too), but Amazon Associates is an affiliate program that is free to sign up for.

I’m sure you’ve seen several products on this very site that look like the following:

That is an example of “Linking to a Product” using my Amazon Associates account.  If you click on the Kindle Fire box above, you will see it takes you directly to’s product listing.  You can see more examples on FAVS and I also have related products on my recipes as well.  There is a tag at the end of the URL when you are directed to  If you purchase a qualifying product, I (as the person who “referred” you) will make a small percentage commission on your purchase.

It’s a heck of a lot easier than buying a bunch of products, storing them somewhere, listing them, shipping, dealing with returns, etc.  There are so many products on amazon, you’re options are virtually limitless.  You are not just relegated to products either.  You can have banners, widgets, even a whole Amazon Store.  YOU CAN READ MORE ABOUT THE AMAZON ASSOCIATES PROGRAM HERE.
